I wonder which of our blogs are being “recommended”?

So Tumblr, do you honestly feel my experience of using your service is being enriched by spamming my dashboard with recommended blogs which have zero in common with the almost 5,000 blogs I follow which rarely feature recipes, photos of delirious dogs, other pets, cars and treehouses.

Exactly where is that data coming from? I mean ok who wouldn’t appreciate suggestions of waterfall or pretty cloud photos… if that is, I already exclusively followed blogs that feature them. Which I don’t.

The fact I can’t even switch recommendations off, that they are what I see first and they seem to be indestructible even if I mark them as irrelevant or inappropriate is eroding a lot of the pleasure of using Tumblr. Oh… a fluffy bunny photo. Fabulous…
