We often see demure or classy submissives, very feminine, pretty, elegant ladylike. But what about a submissive that’s a fighter, literally? Someone who goes more typically masculine activities, like boxing or mechanics or construction? Does this take away from her being feminine at other times? Is it less desirable?

I like some aspects of Tumblr, but one aspect that really sticks in my craw is the endless barrage of images of submissives as invariably young, invariably whisper-thin, and invariably able to strut a pair of fuck-me pumps with the sinuous grace of a runway model. Here’s the thing: it’s all bullshit.

I’ve known submissives who were tomboys, game nerds, TKD competitors, motorcycle mechanics, kickboxers, and computer programmers. And I knew one memorable submissive who could totally bury my ass in the squat rack without even breaking a sweat. Some of the most amazing subs I’ve known were Alpha females, mold-breakers, and flat-out “tough bitches.” But when they heard the word “Kneel,” they dropped like a stone. And in that moment, they were the most delightfully feminine women you can possibly imagine. Not because of any externals, but because of their mind, and their soul.

Now, is a woman who doesn’t fit the demure, elegant Tumblr stereotype somehow “less desirable”? Only if the guy is a clueless gomer who is fixated on the length of a girl’s legs rather than the depth of her submission. There are a lot of guys like that out there, sadly. But they are pointless schmucks, and not worth a girl’s time.
