This is like literally exactly what I want out of a relationship. The ability to coexist quietly, when necessary. I don’t want to always have to be entertaining you and I don’t want you to feel like you always have to entertain me. I want us to be able to do our thing separately. I don’t want a relationship where we constantly have to be engaged and doing shit together and focused only on each other. I want a relationship where we can love each other more for being able to do our own thing sometimes. I want to be able to be my own person with you – not despite you. I don’t want to have to be constantly on – and I don’t want you to be constantly on either. Because that’s awful. And exhausting. And not at all sustainable.

I’ll love you more for being able to do your own thing. And I hope you’ll love me more for being able to do mine.
